Abridged Prospectus
An abridged prospectus is a shortened version of a company's full prospectus. According to SEBI regulations, a company planning to offer equity or debt to investors must file a prospectus, which includes vital information for investors to make informed decisions. However, a full prospectus can be lengthy and complex. To address this, Section 2(1) of the Companies Act of 2013 mandates that companies publish an abridged prospectus—a concise summary of the main points from the full prospectus. This ensures that investors can easily access essential information without sifting through a large document.
